Great gym but the 70.00 annual fee were is it going suppose to be to maintain equipment but the mens shower has been closed for 6 months, the sauna bench is missing a nail, the pool has been closed for ages. Owner needs to take more pride in ownership. But staff and the atmosphere is great.
This is the side of one of their 2 squat platforms. Has been for at least 2 months. It would be nice to have this fixed so I don't cut myself trying to load weights. Especially nice since cost membership just went up and pool is still shut down. **Edit*** they fixed this about a week after posting. Thank you mgmt. Now, about the pool and lat pull down machine...
A large, 2 floor gym with plenty of equipment (when it's working), a well stocked fridge, a physical therapy office attached, and a martial arts gym in the back. This isn't my home club so I can't attest to management/policy ????♂️ ???? - a huge selection of equipment to cater to any fitness journey ????♂️ The fridge is full of great options for performance drinks ???? the protein shakes are sugar and soy free, not made from whey concentrate, and low cal per protein ratio. The pre-workout (I tried Tiger Blood, delicious, tasted like melted Jolly Ranchers) is calorie free/keto ???? The staff do walk-arounds frequently, are also helpful on demand ???? Clean locker rooms, clean workout space ???? ???? - poor gym etiquette from other patrons (putting weight away in correct spots, not sharing equipment, one person stayed in a squat rack nearly the entire 2 hrs I was there) The equipment could be easier to find if the staff focused on making sure everything was in it's proper place during their walkarounds. Having worked in a gym before, I know there's plenty of free time to keep the gym tidy. I must have spent 15 min looking for equipment when I needed it ???? moderately annoying There were a surprising number of machines/equipment "out of order". Doubtful all the machines broke within the same month, which means it takes some time for things to be repaired here.
2022 Update So this morning was a new low. I walked in on trash on the floor and weights everywhere. The man-child behind the counter could not be bothered to pick any of it up, and spent so long fitting on rubber gloves while the rest of us waited for paper towels that I finally went into the restroom and brought out a role for everyone. I do not work at Crunch. And very shortly, I wouldn't be lifting here anymore. Terrible: I work out here because depending on the time you'll have a good experience. But, watch out, there is a huge surplus of a certain clientele that really, really believe they are the only people working out and will often hustle you (physically sometimes) off equipment, or harass you with their friends, and or just literally stand right behind you until you give in or give up. I'm a big person, physical I mean, patience-wise I've had it with this gym. The worst are the employees, no one will take responsibility to change anything. You're better off running laps outside, or a couple push-ups at home. I mean it, not worth it. Also, been like 8 weeks and ground floor drinking fountains still don't work. Some employee put up little printed signs and posted them throughout the gym, mostly on the mirrors, encouraging people to take pride in their gym and keep it looking clean. Seriously?
Still waiting on the renovation for the pool, some equipment the hardware is loose and missing the pins to select the weight. Decent amount of equipment, but no one reracks their weights so they're all scattered all over the place. Not worth the top tier package to use a massage chair and tanning booth that you have to schedule a time slot for especially since you're in sunny San diego with plenty of beaches to get your tan on at. Nothing advanced but good for your basic needs
